Knights of Columbus Membership Information

Looking for men who want to get involve with the parish and make new friends!

MEMBERSHIP

The Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. A practicing Catholic is one who lives up to the Commandments of God and the precepts of the Church. The annual dues are $36.00 and a small one time initiation fee.

MEETINGS

Our council meets twice a month at the Parish Activity Center on the 2^nd and 4^th Thursdays of each month at 7 PM. The first meeting of each month is a “Business Meeting” open only to the membership. Our second meeting is a “Social Meeting” open to all men 18 years and older. We go over existing business items and discuss upcoming new events. After every meeting, we have dinner or light meal, fellowship, followed by men activities.

PARISH INVOLVEMENT

The St. Albert the Great Knights of Columbus are extremely active in the day to day operations of our parish. You can see them involved in most every ministry of the church. Some of the areas we are involved include Ushers, Right to Life, Youth and Adult Faith Formation, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Choir, Finance Committee, Pastoral Council, and much more. We are bless to have the Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Deacon as members. We believe in our commitment to our parish, make every effort to make this parish, and keep this parish a success for all our parishioners and community.

COMRADERY / FRATERNITY

The Knights of Columbus is an excellent opportunity for the gentlemen of the parish to meet and make friends with other gentlemen of their parish. We are a very active council with a long standing tradition of excellence within the Knights of Columbus (International: http://www.kofc.org and Texas: http://www.tkofc.org). Our council has been awarded the “Star Council” and “Charity Award”. That means we have met and exceeded our goals of charity and volunteerism as well as recruitment and retention of our membership. The St. Albert the Great council also is an excellent opportunity for comradery. Throughout the year we host a number of family social events including UT Longhorn football tailgate parties, Round Rock Express Baseball outings, family picnics, family bowling, Hill County Winery Tours, Christmas Parties, and many other social events. Every year we add new events, so there are many reasons to look into joining our council.

Knights of Columbus are Catholic Gentlemen committed to the exemplification of charity, unity, fraternity, patriotism, and defense of the priesthood. The order is consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The order is unequivocal in its loyalty to the Pope, the Vicar of Christ on earth. It is firmly committed to the protection of human life, from conception to natural death, and to the preservation and defense of the family. It was on these bedrock principles that the order was founded over a century ago and remains true to them today.
